Vocal

• directed elementary school chorus at PS 63Q (2003-2005)

• participated in various choral ensembles, including swing/jazz choirs, community and school choirs

• performed as soloist at weddings and events

• lead and back up vocalist for various rock and folk groups

• studied privately for 8 years

Instrumental

Band

• implemented instrumental music program at PS63Q (2004-2005)

  • instruments taught:  flute, clarinet, trumpet, drums, recorder and Orff

• instructed instrumental music for PS 63Q Summer Arts Program (2004)

  • instruments taught:  recorder, Orff and keyboard

Piano

• provided piano accompaniment for various ensembles and school assemblies

• taught private piano lessons for one year

 Guitar

• played rhythm guitar in various rock and folk ensembles

• provided accompaniment for school assemblies, ensembles and classroom performances

French horn

• performed in school ensembles from third grade through college

TEACHING

 GRANT WRITING

• successfully wrote and acquired grants from:

  • Queens Council on the Arts to fund "Community Anthem" project

  • DonorsChoose.org to fund acquisition of music stands and chairs for band program
